Dennis Bushong has worked in the pressroom at Intelligencer Printing Company for 46 years. He began as a sheetfed press helper when he was 18, and has steadily been promoted through the years. Four years ago, he was promoted to Pressroom Supervisor. According to his Production Manager, Gary Richwine, “Dennis’ knowledge of the printing process has not only benefited Intelligencer Printing, but also the numerous press helpers that have had the privilege to learn a craft from a master craftsman. Dennis has been very instrumental to the cause of reducing costs associated with the printing business by negotiating prices and looking for ways to reduce waste. He has mastered the technology of various types of printing, such as web offset, UV processes and several types of specialty coatings”.
Dennis Bushong is not only a talented craftsman in the pressroom, but also a talented craftsman in life. He is very involved with all aspects of his grandchildren’s lives, enjoying many of the activities they participate in. Dennis is also very involved in his church, where he is an elder and a devoted Sunday School teacher.
